Norman John Spencer, 85

During his retirement, Norman enjoyed spending time with his wife, Ethel, and family. He enjoyed traveling, going to breakfast with his retired University of Akron coworkers, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, and celebrating years of family celebrations.

Norman was a member of St. Augustine and 3rd degree of Knights of Columbus #614.

Preceded in death by his wife Ethel, son David, and parents, Earl T. and Florence Spencer, and in-laws David and Betty Love.

Norman will be dearly missed by his children and relatives, Kimberly Shifferly, Timothy Spencer (Amy Fabian), Michele (John) Abraham, Mark (Rebecca) Spencer, Lori Logsdon; grandchildren, Emily (Michael) Dubowski and Matthew (Hannah) Abraham, Katie (David Callihan) and Kiersten (Chris D’Andrea), Molly and Spencer Logsdon; great-grandchildren Ellie and Ethan Dubowski and Maverick D’Andrea; sisters, Norma (Richard) Wrobel, Mary (John) Timura; sisters-in-law, Rosalie Marquette, Carolyn (James) Campbell and many nieces and nephews.

Norman was a kind soul on this planet, our father learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in us. He never met a stranger because he loved to talk to everyone. He was quite the jokester!

Dad, you are now at peace, but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 6th St NW, Barberton, OH 44203. Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-6 PM at Cox-McNulty Funeral Home, 1376 High St, Wadsworth, OH  44281.
