Truck fire damages two houses

No injuries to residents, responders or pets were reported after a truck fire spread to two homes along Palmer Street Sept. 14.

BARBERTON A truck parked between two houses on Palmer Street Sept. 14 caught fire around 4 p.m. and spread the blaze to both dwellings, according to the Barberton fire Department.
Helping Barberton firefighters were crews from the Coventry and New Franklin fire departments as well as the Barberton Police, Streets and Building departments. The American Red Cross also provided support.
Both houses were occupied at the time, Barberton Fire said, but no residents, responders or pets were harmed. An investigation was ongoing as of this writing.
The fire department encourages everyone to have working smoke detectors in their living and sleeping areas.
