Barberton City Schools 19th annual Academic Hall of Fame ceremony is Sept. 5 at Barberton High School. Seven Barberton High School alumni are being inducted this year: David R. Cooper, from the Class of 1962; Christine Duncan Finan, Class of 1977; James E. Young, Class of 1979; Anne-Marie Anderson, Class of 1983; Aaron Day, Class of 1991 and both Rob Branham and Marty Eberhart are from the Class of 1993.
The program for the inductees includes a luncheon, tour of the high school, reception, and concludes with their introduction and football game that evening. The selection committee included Sheila McGhee, Brian Nehlsen, Tiffany Peters, Beth Hirschman and Cindy Sutton.

Rob Branham graduated from PennWest University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. In 2005,
he earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He continued his education and
achieved Master of Military Operation Art and Science/Studies and Master of Divinity. He is currently enrolled at the National Intelligence University where he will get a degree in Master of Science of Strategic Intelligence,
focus on China in 2026.
Spending his entire career, more than 32 years with the Air Force, he performed in many positions beginning with Weather Observer, and continuing with Weather Forecaster, Weather Flight Commander, Detachment
Commander, Assistant Director of Operations, Requirements Manager, Chief of Inspections and Training, Chief of Wartime Plans, Exercises, and Military Readiness Programs, Chief of Air Force Service Watch Cell, Chief of Air Force Civil Support Division.
His achievements include serving as a volunteer ministry coach with Billy Graham Evangelistic Association since 2016, being deployed to Ecuador, Panama, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, amongst other overseas locations to provide weather forecast support for warfighters, served as a contributing author to the Department of Air Force’s Arctic
Strategy and Civil Engineering Severe Weather Risk Assessment Playbook.
He also led weather forecast support for the Humanitarian Disaster Response in Thailand after the tsunami.
Branham was recognized as Air Force Weather’s Company Grade Officer of the Year in 2004 while serving at Yokota AB Japan.
He currently lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife Marjorie Mier and is a Lieutenant Colonel with the United
States Air Force working at the Pentagon as the Chief of Air Force Weather Operations, Policy, and Doctrine.
