In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his WV mom, Aunt Julie McGuire; his brother, Jimmy Lee, who he mentioned often; and one half-sister Brenda Sirley.

Those left to carry on his memory are his WV dad Uncle Emery McGuire of Danese; sisters (cousins) Phyllis Bush of Springdale and Patty (Wayne) Lester of Layland; brothers (cousins) Melvin McGuire of Florida and Alan (Angie) McGuire of Danese; one half-brother Ernest Jessmer; one half-sister Janet Cadle; two aunts Erma Williams of Ohio; and numerous cousins and Bluegrass friends that loved him.

Joe had two special girlfriends Mandy and Jennifer, with Hospice, who visited him during his last days and brought so much love for him. He loved to see them come.
