David “Dave” Chalmers Terwilliger, 85

                  Together Again

David “Dave” Chalmers Terwilliger passed away peacefully on Tuesday,
April 2, 2024.
Born in Barberton, Ohio to the late Carl and Elva Terwilliger on December
5, 1938. David was a loving father and is survived by his sons, David, Todd
and Patrick and daughter, Tyler and grandfather to many grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Judith (Rafferty)
Terwilliger (10/23/2023).
Dave worked for the Packaging Corporation of America for many years
until retirement in the 1990’s.
The man, the myth, the legend. He was kind, persevering, inspiring and
generous with a gentle soul. He grew up in Kenmore, moved to Melody
Village, Wadsworth and settled in Barberton. He was known for taking his
blue Chevelle to local car shows and he really enjoyed going to the Barberton
Speedway, even when it was a dirt track when he was a kid.
He spent a lot of time outside and loved to watch the grass grow and sit on
the bench. He was a regular in the neighborhood, always waving hello. An
avid painter and builder, Dave could paint numbers and letters like no other.
He was a hard worker that could fix anything and had a strong work ethic. He
loved to fix things, especially with duct tape being his favorite.
Just like his wife, Judie, he loved his black tea with sugar. He deeply cared
for his pets. The holidays were always so special. One of his favorite things to
do was to decorate the inside and outside of the house. He was very particular
about the Christmas tree branches, they had to be just so.
Dave was a huge Disney fan, his favorite character was “Goofy”. He was a
huge Cleveland sports and NASCAR fan and loved watching Fox 8 News. He
loved and cherished the time he spent with his great-grandson, Colten Butler.
Enjoy all of the Wendy’s frosties and circus peanuts you can eat Dad.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Tuscora Park Pavilon, 501 E.
Tuscarawas Avenue, Barberton 44203, behind SUMMA Barberton Hospital
from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024. For questions call 330-860-0831.
All are welcome.

Tyler, I am sorry for your loss your parents played a huge role in mine and my brother’s childhood. Dave was always a quiet soul who loved to watch us play. Hope you can find peace in the storm.
