Frank Steve Andris, 90

Frank Steve Andris, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024. He
was born in Barberton, Ohio and was a lifelong resident.
Frank was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved watching his
children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in various sports and activities, and was
always a proud supporter.  Frank and Eleanor’s house was the center of countless
gatherings and everyone always went away feeling well fed and loved.
He approached life with enthusiasm and knew how to have fun.  You could always
count on him to be up and dancing when “Old Time Rock and Roll” started playing, and
he would dance with anyone who was willing. In quieter times, he enjoyed gardening, a
good game of euchre, or a day of fishing on the lake.  He was also a huge fan of the
Buckeyes, the Steelers, and the Cleveland Indians.
He had a great sense of humor, and will be remembered for his classic catchphrases;
anyone who knew him could recite his two favorite responses to the question “how are
you?”
He was a dedicated, hard worker and taught his family how to persevere through tough
times.  He left high school to enlist in the Marine Corps, where he served as a mechanic
on an aircraft carrier during the Korean War. Later, he worked for many years at Rondy
Inc. and retired as Vice President.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Eleanor; his son Joseph
(“Fuzz” as Frank lovingly called him), his parents, and his brother, Joe.
He is survived by his children, Pam (Ron) Jacobs, Frank Andris, and Helen (John)
Thomas, daughter-in-law Nicole Andris; grandchildren, Jennifer (Tim) Sullivan, Julie
(Adam) Smith, Michelle Jacobs, Jeffrey Thomas, Nicole (Joshua) Richardson, and Emily
(fiance Caleb) Jacobs; great grandchildren, Timothy, Isaac, and John Sullivan, Sarah and
Anna Smith, and Judah Richardson; sister and brother-in-law Mary Ann and Gene
Pusen; sisters-in-law Leona Rennie and Cathy Andris, along with many cousins, nieces,
and nephews.
Frank’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 11:00 AM at
St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Ave, Akron, Ohio 44320 with visitation from
10:30 until the time of service. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  His family
will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at Campfield-Hickman-Collier
Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave, Barberton, Ohio 44203 from 5:00-7:00 PM, with a time
of remembrance to follow at 7:00 PM
