“Together Again” John Daniel Smith, 70, gained his Heavenly wings on November 8, 2024, in Barberton, Ohio and was reunited with his wife and true love, Sharon. Born on April 27, 1954, in Bedford, Pennsylvania, John was known for his simplicity and love for nature, which brought him immense peace. His talents were numerous – an exceptional hunter, artist, singer, and seamstress, John could also fix just about anything within the garage and home. He also possessed a keen sixth sense, which enabled him to ‘read’ others perceptively. Above all, however, John was a devoted father, husband, and grandfather, cherished by his family and friends.
John graduated from Norton High School in 1972 and spent the majority of his career at Goodyear, where he was respected for his dedication and work ethic. In his leisure, John was passionate about hunting and enjoyed fixing and tinkering with things around the house.
John is survived by his son, Daniel Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Leia and Daniel Ellis; sister, Deanna Sharier; brother, Timothy Smith; mother-in-law, Betty Weigand Melton Kinsey; grandchildren, Zachary and Audrey Ellis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon; son, Chase Smith; his parents, Dewey and Arvella Smith; and brother, Dewey Smith.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, December 14th, at 11:00am, at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Coventry.  Burial will take place immediately following the service, at Manchester Cemetery.
