BARBERTON Well-known for their maroon trucks and orange safety gear, Barberton Tree Service employees added another color to their wardrobe this fall for a good cause.
Barberton Tree Service employees came together once again for the 10th annual “Saws for the Cause,” according to information provided. Each year, this is done in memory of Donna Luck, the mother of the owner, Keith Luck, who died of breast cancer at age 52.
Employees wore black and hot pink shirts to their worksites, in the shops and offices.
They also sported the pink shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in support and in memory of all the women who have battled this terrible disease. The shirts have a tree rope ribbon with a message “In Memory of Donna.” Donna loved life and she has been missed dearly since 1990, according to a news release.
Company President Lisa Devenport began this tradition in 2014 in Donna’s memory in hope to raise awareness and remind women to schedule their annual mammograms.
Barberton Tree Service, Inc. donates every year in memory of Donna and in honor of those who are still fighting for the cure. This year, the company chose the Young Survival Coalition. Anyone who is interested in donating and would like more information about YSC can visit www.youngsurvival.org. For more information about Barberton Tree Service, visit www.barbertontree.com.
