Russell “Russ” Edward Snyder Sr., 76

Russell “Russ” Edward Snyder Sr., 76, of Warsaw, went to be with his
Lord and Savior and the love of his life on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at
Lafayette Nursing and Rehabilitation in West Lafayette. He was born in
Barberton, Ohio on March 12, 1948 to the late Reah and Millward
(Sharier) Snyder.
Russ retired from J.M. Smucker Co. in Orrville, OH in 2008, he worked
there since he was 17 years old. He loved playing guitar and singing
country gospel music with a group throughout many nursing homes in
surrounding communities. He was also an avid hunter, making the best
deer jerky around, and was a fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with
his family and watching old western movies. He was a member of Clark
Township Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his three children Russell Snyder Jr (Connie) of
Rittman, OH, Susan (Dennis) Holiday of Rittman, OH and Mearle
Snyder of Rittman, OH; stepchildren Malinda (Bud) Raber of
Millersburg, OH, Michael Troyer of Wooster, OH, Jeremy Troyer of
Warsaw, OH; 16 grandchildren: Taylor (Gabby) Raber & Lexi (Tate)
Miller, Brennah, Averee & Hudson Troyer, Faith (Gary) Schlabach,
Norman, Gabe, Noah Troyer, Zach, Dustin, and Gabe Snyder, Nicholas
& Jaden Holiday; three great grandchildren Caleb Raber, Rylann and
Colt Schlabach; siblings Lyle (Kathy) Snyder and Cheryl Maple; and his
special four legged companions, TJ and Willy.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte
(Reed) Snyder, who passed away in 2021; a grandson Caleb Allen
Raber; a granddaughter Amber Holiday; siblings Frank “Butch” Goch,
Elizabeth Pritchard, Catherine “Bonnie” Kuntz, Donald Goch, and John
“Jitty” Goch; and brother-in-law Jessie Maple.
Per Russ’s wishes there will be no funeral services and a cremation will
take place, a Celebration of Life will take place for Russell and his wife,
Charlotte, will take place later this spring.
