Barbara G. Ramsey (née Meiske), 93

Barbara G. Ramsey (née Meiske), age 93, passed away peacefully on February 8,
2026, in Akron, Ohio.
Barbara was born in Cincinnati on June 26, 1932, and her life was defined by
devotion—to her family, to the simple joys she cherished, and to the people and animals
she loved so deeply. She was the beloved daughter of Cloy and Lucile Meiske and the
devoted wife of Bruce Ramsey, all of whom preceded her in death.
Above all else, Barbara was a mother and grandmother whose life revolved around her
family. She is survived by her five children: Carole A. Higley (Littlejohn), Peter A.
Littlejohn, Robert A. Littlejohn, David A. Littlejohn, and Michael F. Littlejohn, who were
the center of her world. She was a proud and loving grandmother to nine grandchildren:
Madison Brillhart, Peyton Littlejohn, Heather Higley, Evan Littlejohn, Connor Higley,
Abbey Littlejohn, Allison Littlejohn, Alexis Petrovich, and Maxwell Littlejohn. She took
great joy in watching their lives unfold and celebrating each milestone along the way.
Barbara was also a dear and loyal friend to many, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime.
Barbara was raised in New York and Cincinnati before eventually settling in Ohio, where
she made her home for many years. She found happiness in life’s quieter pleasures,
she was an avid reader, found peace and comfort in nature, and shared her life with
many beloved dogs, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her steady presence, gentle strength, and the
unwavering love she gave so freely. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and
by the many lives she touched through her kindness and care.
Our family will gather privately to celebrate Mom’s life. Barbara believed deeply in
community and public service, and she was proud of her involvement with her local
Conservative Party. In lieu of flowers, she hoped we would honor her memory by taking
an active role in your own local communities.
