BARBERTON It’s dirty work.
But someone’s got to do it.
And for a century now, Liniform Service has been making sure individuals and businesses not only look sharp, fresh and clean but that they have what they need such as uniforms, linen, mops, mats and other supplies.
From Barberton White Wet Wash to Barberton Laundry and Cleaning to Liniform Service – with a couple more in between – the name of the local rental laundry business has changed over the past 100 years.
Each new name has reflected a different direction for the family owned and operated company. Embracing change and adapting to meet customers’ needs and incorporating new technology have all helped to keep the company relevant and viable – and growing – a century after it was founded.
Liniform Service marked its 100th anniversary last month with festivities at 1050 Northview Ave. Employees and management, as well as the massive equipment inside the plant that runs all hours for washing, drying, ironing, sorting, folding and more took a break Aug. 9 to celebrate and reflect on the history of the company. Employees, family members, customers, vendors and others enjoyed lunch, music, games, looking at photo albums, and taking tours of the building that expanded not too long ago and featured some new equipment.
Liniform Service President Jennifer Peroli, who represents the fourth generation in her family to own the company, said a few words at the centennial celebration following a commendation presented by Summit County Councilwoman Bethany McKenney, R-District 7.
