ELECTION 2025: Results in for local races — Norton, Wadsworth, Doylestown

Election results for local contests around the area have been posted by the Medina, Summit and
Wayne Boards of Elections respectively. Here’s a look at the tallies for each community.
Norton
Each of the four candidates running for Norton City Council ran unopposed this year.
According to final but unofficial results from the Summit County Board of Elections, Ward 1 candidate Doug DeHarpart received 473 votes.
Ward 2 candidate Jamie Lukens received 457 votes.
Ward 3 candidate Donald Harbert received 564 votes and Ward 4 candidate Paul Tousley received
376 votes.
Norton Board of Education candidates Chris Inks, Elisa Staats and Cindy Webel will each retain their seats. Inks received 1,305 votes (23.68 percent). Staats received 1,490 votes (27.03 percent). Webel received 1,692 votes (30.7 percent). Challenger Glen Nazworth received 1,025 votes (18.6 percent).
Issue 41, which was a proposed tax levy renewal with an increase to support the Norton Fire
Department, failed with 1,437 (54.95 percent) voting against the levy and 1,178 (45.05 percent) voting in favor of the levy.
Wadsworth
According to final but unofficial results from the Medina County Board of Elections, democratic
challenger Mike Reese defeated Republican incumbent Ralph Copley in the race for Ward 1 council representative. Reese received 592 votes (54.97 percent) and Copley received 485 votes
(45.03 percent).
In Ward 2 republican incumbent Jon Yurchiak was unopposed and received 700 votes.
In Ward 3 republican incumbent Jeanne Hines defeated democratic challenger John Allen Schulze.
Hines received 382 votes (50.33 percent) and Schulze received 377 votes (49.67 percent).
In Ward 4 democratic challenger Angela May defeated republican incumbent David Parish. May received 450 votes (50.51 percent) and Parish received 441 votes (49.49 percent).
Republican candidate Dan Rospert ran unopposed for council present and received 2,467 votes.
Republican candidates Zach Berger, Chris Maxwell and Tom Stugmyer ran for three council-at-large seats. Berger received 1,803 votes (31.43 percent), Maxwell received 1,816 votes (31.65 percent) and Stugmyer received 2,2118 votes (36.93 percent).
Voters were asked to choose up to three candidates to fill three positions on the Wadsworth Board of Education. Incumbent Julie Batey received 2,790 votes (44.12 percent). Incumbent Amanda Gordon received 2,746 votes (43.42 percent). Write-in candidate Tom Fisher received 361 votes (5.71 percent). Write-in candidate Kirk gray received 260 votes (4.11 percent). A total of 167 votes (2.64 percent) were cast for invalid write-in candidates.
Doylestown
In Doylestown, voters were asked to choose candidates to fill four seats on Doylestown Village
Council.
According to final but unofficial results from the Wayne County Board of Elections, Dale Youngblood received the most votes at 428, followed by Tim Smith who received 416 votes. Christopher Gadosik received the third highest tally with 405 votes and Steve Muller had the fourth highest vote count with 329 votes. Terri Morris received 252 votes.
Three candidates ran for three open seats on the Chippewa Local Schools Board of Education. TJ
DeAngelis received 1,066 votes. Kyle Schafrath received 1,105 votes and Kay Kerr received 988
votes.
