Hilda Grey “Long” Robinson, 88

Together Again
Hilda Grey “Long” Robinson, 88, of Barberton, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026 – her late husband’s birthday – surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply.
Hilda was born in Cosby, Tennessee on November 2, 1937, to Albert and Fannie (Rosenbaum) Long. She married Rondel Robinson, on July 16, 1955, and together they built a home filled with children, love, laughter, and a little mischief. Hilda worked at Louisiana Pacific and spent much of her life lovingly caring for her daughter, Dianna. She was a member of Barberton First Church of Christ.
Hilda found joy in the simple but meaningful moments: family dinners with her children and husband, hosting family for the 4th of July fireworks, celebrating with extended family, enjoying lunches with the “girls from the shop” or her beloved sisters-in-law, and shopping with her daughters for purses and shoes. She welcomed visitors with warmth, whether they came to play cards, watch Hallmark movies with her grandchildren, or catch up on the latest family and celebrity news. Her home was full of comfort and kindness, and her candy dish – always full – was her way of sharing a little sweetness along with her sass.
Family was the center of Hilda’s world. She is survived by her children, Debra (Russel) Shreiner, Brenda Pickle, Linda O’Hara, and Roger (Kristen) Robinson; her grandchildren, Kim (Jim) Morgan, Alyssa (Matthew) Kence, Mindy (Zac) Jackson, Derek Pickle (Shannon Davis), Lauren (Nick) DiPietro, Meghan O’Hara (Chris Phillipp), Tyler Robinson, Connor (Amber) O’Hara, Makenzie Robinson, Olivia Robinson, and Claire Robinson; and her great-grandchildren Amy, Cameron, Zoe, Cooper, William, Christian, Bennett, Hudson, Mia, Ryder, Gabriella, Nico, Rowan, and Anthony. She is also survived by dear in-laws, Bill and Judy Robinson, Virginia Stopak, and Janice Freese; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rondel Robinson; her daughter, Dianna Robinson; and her siblings, Albert Long, Fred Long, Eileen Hampton, Anna Mae Russell, Marie Long, Lee Gibson, and Juanita Brantley.
Hilda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to her friends and to the staff at Pleasant View Nursing Home for the compassionate care she received over the past two years.
A funeral service will be held at Barberton First Church of Christ, 552 Harvard Avenue in Barberton, on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 6:00 pm with David Fuller officiating; dinner to follow. Calling hours will take place prior to the service from 4:00-6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barberton Community Foundation Esther Ryan Shoe Fund at www.barbertoncf.org or the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
