HS VOLLEYBALL: Mogadore’s Wildcats beat Magics in 3 sets

Barberton’s varsity and junior varsity girls volleyball teams both fell in their opening matches on Saturday against the Mogadore Wildcats. The varsity team lost in three sets and the JV squad in two. The Magics were led by Skylar Marble with 11 kills and Kaylee Wright with 10 digs. Mona Ries contributed two blocks, and Carly Ondrus and Katie Rodriguez both had eight assists. Under the leadership of head coach Kate Walsh and assistant Mary Howard, the 0-1 varsity team was headed to Akron this week for a Tuesday match against Buchtel and a Thursday match against Our Lady of the Elms.
